    Parking assist

ALP's installed, updates done, have a blue light, however I am getting very inconsistent parking readings, sometimes I am up on the person in front of me's bumper and nothing, other times it works fine. The sensors are level both directions and they give warning when you put your hand in front of it, question is what gives?

They work by transmitting laser and judging a distance by the return beam. Depending on how low your heads are installed the transmit might be too low to reflect off the objects in front of you. If you want to test and adjust the sensitivity on them test them against a wall or a garage door.

They are above bumper height on a Passat so fairly standard height and I made sure they were level both directions. I assumed it had to do with the reflections, to be honest I really could care less about the parking aspect more about the Laser Jamming lol.

Its normal for the parking sensor "function" mine is off too, it really depends on how reflective the source in front of you is--its a hit or miss! Did you really buy these for parking functions??
