Back in the day Trapster was the Waze of its time... Times changed and as is with many things if you dont adapt you get left behind.

Slightly OT, but seems to be getting buzz, so I'll bite:

It seems like most dislike the hazard-info of cars stopped on shoulders with Waze, which I actually find to be useful information (when correct). As a driver, I'm always one for more information, and I can filter it out, I generally don't have too many issues with incorrect hazard warnings either (maybe that's why it doesn't bother me, it's correct in 2/3 or so of the cases).

I agree. Most of the time, stopped car reports don't bother me. Sometimes it gets a little much. But, it lets me know that isn't a LEO sitting there.

Yep good point. Also a car stopped on the road is a hazard. Especially when so many people hit those people and keep going.

Or they post to get points - which are totally useless IMO. Not like you get money or anything!

I want LEO only alerts...and only valid ones! As if.....

I view hazard alerts as a good indicator of how likely it is to see a parked leo between myself and the hazard. Very useful to me in remote areas or thin traffic.

I've had many occasions when I see a car on the shoulder in the distance but can't positively rule it out as not being leo, the hazard alert adds a little bit of confidence. They could still be wrong, but then so is my rd sometimes.

I agree, but there's a catch. If people aren't interested, no one will use it. As stupid as some of the things in Waze are, it probably keeps some using it. It's cartoony as hell, stupid goodies and the points are useless to me. But, the last I saw there are 50+ million users in 2013. I'll gladly put up with some things I don't like for an app like Waze.
