    It should be placed on the dash to give it a good solid signal.

    Just received my GPS antenna today and installed it. (Thanks Tom)! I love how I can set my LID Speed limit. I have one question, when testing it out parked in my driveway it displays the yellow car because I am below the speed limit threshold. However when I shoot my PLIII at it it alerts but switches to defense mode until my LID time expires (4 seconds) . I don't have an IR camera so I am just wondering if the heads are firing back. The length of the gps antenna is great for truck owners btw.

    There are 3 separate settings for GPS (Parking Sensor Speed, Radar Speed & Lidar Speed) you will need to configure a new setup file with settings for all 3.
    Also, If there is no GPS signal it will automatically operate as if no GPS was attached.

    I configured the "Define PDC SPEED limit" at 20 kph, "Define PDC SPEED limit" at 10 kph but left the radar speed at no limit. Are these settings correct? While driving with these settings my alp connect car stays yellow till I go above 20 kph, but like I said when its yellow and I shoot my system it turns blue.

    It will not fire back under the set speed unless the GPS signal is lost. Mirage uses the GPS and he will probably chime in but I would guess its just letting you know of the alert.

    Yea I am seeing the little gps icon and like I said it appears to be working since when I go above 20 kph the system returns to defense mode. Just thought I would ask, thanks Tom!

    You need to configure the LID speed limit as well, which is further down the setup page;

    If you're using the STiR+ as well, you need to set speeds for PDC, Radar, and LID (they default to no limit, unless you change them)

    My GPS antenna finally arrived and installed it yesterday. Is normal operation the red blinking light, or should the light be solid red, when GPS signal acquired? Wondering if it blinks or goes solid, based on a certain event.

    Without the blue tooth module it is difficult to tell when you have GPS lock unless you set a speed limit on the lid. If you are below the lid speed limit then the led will change to green or yellow (can't remember
    which but it will not be blue). When your speed increases to above the set limit the led will change back to blue. If you do not have a GPS signal the ALP cpu will default to the highest protection mode.
