Sensor disconnect, or start up errors

I have these random sensor issues during bootup, or something about a self test fail. It happens once in a blue moon.

Live with it or is this a cause for concern?

    Danke.

Depends what the error actually is. If its an Error 2 then its just stating that there is interference and it does not necessarily mean something failed but if it tells you that the automatic sensor check failed and points you to a certain sensor than you should inspect that sensor and wiring for damage.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

Thanks. The first error was sensor 2 failed. That only happened once.

Turned it off, then back on. Attempt 2 and 3 was error 2.

Attempt 4 and onwards = fine.

Using a laser tester devices there weren't an issue once the system went to 'blue mode'. Thoughts? Thanks!

Lots of things can cause an Error 2. Sun or even parking close to an obstacle.

Thanks - neither case was relevant in my scenario though. Vehicle was sitting in the driveway (shade), and there wasn't anything close to it (the closest wall was maybe 6 feet away). Oh well, I'll ignore it for now.

Is it common to get a sensor failure or is a one off usually not a big deal? Thx!

just a guess could it be the cpu by any chance, is there a way to hard reset the cpu, or have u found a faulty sensor, one of our oz guys has got the same error 2 started yesterday when he got hit with Polis, ive also had strange things after being hit by Polis, may be the cpu gets its self mixed up, hes,s also checking things out

Sensor disconnect, or start up errors

Mine started to play up Friday as well.

Alp connect app dropped out, restarted it then 30 seconds later I got a Poliscan false.

After that it was fine until Saturday when it's just constantly freaking out about VPS and Traffic Obs.

I assume one of my rear heads is failing but damn it's a PITA to get to the wiring to do an isolation test to confirm which one.

is the self test on start up suppose to check all things for a 100% to be operational, there,s gotta be a better way for fault finding instead of having to Digg all the wiring out which can be very expensive costs, BA have u tested with ur gun to see if all 4 heads respond when u have the blue car in defense mode, i get that traffic observer as well but dont know what triggers it

Have you tried it on 5.3.3 firmware which was released yesterday ?

Looks like a bit of a bug fix release, but definately sounds like a failing sensor

Doubtful. Hit the stats button after you get an error and it will pinpoint which sensor is causing the error.
