    Unhappy ALP Not Working - Video

    Hey all,

    Got warm today after a few weeks of sub zero temps (Celsius), and I powered on my car and started getting a bunch of errors from my ALP (on iPhone with BT module/ALP Connect).

    Over the span of about 30 minutes, it got progressively worse. Starting with Error 3 sensor defective, it now won't power on. With the BT/App it sounds like it is constantly cycling on and off, and with BT off on the phone and the app closed, I cannot use the control pad to turn the unit on - I get nothing.

    Video shows me removing and reinstalling the USB as I use the privacy key, but that doesn't change the result.

    I would like to remove the BT module to see if it is having issues and go direct with the control pad, but the whole thing was buried under the steering column by the installer and I don't want to rip apart the trim trying to get to it without having the proper tools on hand to do so.

    Has anyone experienced anything like this?

    Just to add more to the story today...

    I managed to gain access to the control box. With the control set plugged directly into the control box, and the USB key plugged directly rather than through the extension cable I was unable to get the unit, the control set, or the remote LED to indicate that it had any form of life.

    I plugged the BT module back into the control box, powered on the car and all the module would do was flash the green light and click while the app made the same sound as in the video from the original post.

    Is the control box defective?

    Hi There,
    is there any solution for your problem found, cause it seem‘s to happen i‘m having a similar problem with my new installed ALP - have checked all cabling and power voltage - but simply no life from the control set but once the bluetooth module is connected the green light is flashing slowly.
    if i start the IOS App its is showing white car and bluetooth connecting- disconnecting in a 1-2sec cycle - no function of the App operateabl.
    kind regards, Mike

    Try a name brand new USB Drive and make sure its a native USB 2.0 drive and 16GB or less and put a fresh copy of the key on it and see if you have the same issues.

    Okl, here i am back again - my AL-P system is working again - therefore i had to send my bluetooth module and the control box to the european repair center - they fixed the box and checked it as well as the bluetooth module, which was ok - so i got it back today and re-installed everything - updated the firmware - but to my surprise even if the system is armed in defense mode it does not detect PoliScan towers - even if i drive by the tower - already tried several towers without success - the power on self test is runing fine - the parking sensor mode is working withour probs -
    somebody have a clue what can be wrong ?

    Sounds strange, the latest firmware definitely detects Poliscan here.

    Are you sure its not been turned off in your configuration file, and Poliscan False Detection (PFR) is turned off ;

    thanks for your quick reply - the config.alp is having mostly standard values except volume changes and defender mode selection - today i had two towers which were detected - one in about 200m - which is enaugh inside villages - one i havent noticed where it was - maybe flase alarm

    I need more time for verification to really get a reasonable result - do you know how long the usual detection distance is ? is it possible to have only 20-30m on fixed towers - btw. yesterday i was shot by a LeifTec laser gun which was greatly detected from about 250m - this is impressive

    regards, Mike

    From mobile tripod poliscans facing the front of the car, and not sharply angled across the road, I typically get 450m

    The worst I ever got was a front facer, obscurred by a bush until the last minute, and angled at 45 degrees across the road - about 130m, still well outside the maximum range of 75m.

    We don't have the fixed towers/pillars here, so hard to compare directly.

    Here's one of the better detections ;
