Because it's our right to protect our IP and prevent other companies from sitting our unit on a bench and learning from it. It's also our right to protect users who don't realize they can damage their eyes from sitting there and having IR shot in their face. TX Sensors will not fire if the vehicle is not in motion and GPS is required for anyone wanting to use them.

Before looking at an Escort Radar Detector you should really check out Uniden Detectors.. Uniden R1 & R3 are the best performing radar detectors for the money.

No reason needed. Just because should be sufficient. ALP customer service is outstanding, and even the CPU upgrade policy is great for those that still had the HW1 CPU!

Really, no body is being forced to do anything.
I speculate we may never know all there is about the GPS integration.
All I know is how many times ALP has saved me large dollars in fines, fees, community service, probation, and insurance rate increases.
If ALP said I needed to add a bobble headed Chihuahua dash ornament in the rear window it would be there. Heh!

    Really?

Lets not talk about rights. Much better ways to communicate than that.

Ok, so after searching and asking others it appears the GPS actives jamming if you have TX sensor above 18 mph. If you do not have TX, the threshold is user selectable?

From what others have said ~18mph is the threshold to begin jamming which is certainly acceptable. I was worried it was 25 or higher.

    Yes, 12 to 56 mph (20 to 90 km/h) in 8 user selectable increments.

I've been running mine with GPS and regular sensors for a few years, set to 40 km/h which is the lowest speed limit (school zone) here.

I have the regular sensors and GPS (got it for the NR) and set the threshold to 12 originally. Still on the fence about getting the TX until I do some more testing with 3 std to be bulletproof against the DECs

just for clarification, if wanting to use a TX sensor, you need the GPS antenna. The GPS antenna plugs into the alp main box? and no other module is needed?
