GPS Flashing Red Light (Can We Disable It?)

Just curious if there is or are plans for a enable/disable setting for the red beacon.
I can only see it at night but its viewable in my mirror. If it were on my dash I would have to cover it.
I'm not sure if its going to bug me too much if at all but I wanted to ask.

No, it's part of the operation of the GPS antenna and can't be turned off.

I decided I like it. I put a patch of tape on top because it projects up and forward. The upward reflects off the glass giving me two lights to look at.

Anyways I discovered it only comes on when connected and I want to know that. Its not too bright either.

I take it if for some reason the GPS does not lock the system is armed for defense at any speed until it locks?

Yes your ALP with a TX head will be in Detect only mode until the GPS senses speed above 18 mph, or higher if you program a higher threshold.

    Thanks,

But since my original post I found out it will be in defense mode while GPS signal is acquiring (ie. being protected in tunnels). If you notice your status is blue while its acquiring. Once it does it will go to that strange dual color or to blue according to your moving speed.

So if it looses acquisition it's smart enough to arm until it locks again and then it monitors your spreed and switches accordingly. Which is VERY nice, many Likes to the developers on that one.
