Depends on your vehicle. Cables are 5M which are slightly over 16FT. They are plenty long for most normal size cars depending on how you run the wires. 2.5M Extensions are available for bigger vehicles.

I have a pretty small hatchback. The Alps cables were not long enough to reach from the rear of the car to the dashboard after routing around the hatch.

You could always centrally locate the control unit, under a front seat for example.

I would recommend putting the control box in the middle of the car. It was close for my rear heads when running the cables under the dash in my coupe.

Mine is located in the center console right next to the driver seat

I appreciated all the responses! one last question. do you recommend the alp heads to be "sticking" out similar to the mercedes on this page:

The reason they are sticking out in that attachment is because the large curve on the front of the vehicle. The heads need to be straight and square. If you have to have one side stick out because of a curve that is fine and keep the other end flush with the front of the vehicle.

So I'm guessing on a 2014 jetta I would keep the heads straight?
sorry for all the questions.

On ANY vehicle the heads should be straight and square. On some vehicles with large curves they might not look straight because of the curve of the front end but they should be aiming perfectly straight.
