Does anyone run or know of an Amplified Speaker that I could connect to my iPad touch that is running ALP Connect?

I find the alerts too quiet and am finding myself avoiding to play music just so I can hear alerts...

Any ideas?
ebay or ?

I don't know about speaker, but maybe you can connect mute wire to your car stereo. In that case ALP will automatically mute your music in case of alert.

Cheap set of speakers that run on a 12v adapter, cut that off and hardwire and plug the 3.5jack into the iPod :)

You could probably use the Escort Amplified speaker....

Or utilize the mute wire as KrpA also suggested and have the ALP Mute your radio when an alert goes off.

I purchased the Escort speaker. Only downside in my setup is my speaker location (driver side floor board) and it can still get drowned out if music is too loud and the top is down.

My car stereo has an alternate music source jack, that I am now just playing music from iPhone into stereo. Alerts take priority and are now VERY loud, because they play at volume level radio is set.

I am very happy with it set up this way.

One other option to consider, would be a bluetooth earpiece made for a phone. Bluetooth to the iPad, and the alerts would play in your ear. I've considered this option for long drives with kids in the car trying to sleep. :peaceful:

I am having the same issue as well.

This has been my solution -- 1) bluetooth headset, and 2) aux input from iTouch into BMWs stereo. With that said, the alert volume could be louder.

IMO, the speaker should be able to be connected to the CPU and not rely on a BT connection for amplified sound.

I personally don't want to rely on my phone in order to hear alerts. The connection is just not reliable enough; it also requires that the phone's volume be set properly. The same problem holds true for my car audio system - even though it establishes a BT connection to my phone automatically, I hear zero sound unless the input on the radio is set to BT. To make things worse, my radio automatically mutes itself when establishing a connection to my phone.

I seem to recall that the LI had the capability I'm seeking.

Perhaps an amplified speaker can be connected to the accessory connection on the ALP unit?

You are looking for the HiFi module which is due out soon. HiFi module is an amplified speaker which also gives the ALP Voice Alerts without using Bluetooth. There are several users that prefer that option and its been in the works and will be completed soon.

Is the Ipad not capable of connecting to your head unit via bluetooth? When listening to music it quitens the music to provide of any alerts?
